



after such an abysmally wet day around here my thoughts turned to cold and snowy days in Scandinavia in recent winters; Pine Grosbeaks Finland, Pygmy Owl Sweden February; when we took these we were thigh deep in snow and it was snowing constantly hence the small flakes on the bird's head; it was one of those encounters that you dream of but seldom manage to fulfil-- since I took these my software is better and I think I have a better idea on how to convert them from the original RAWs - a good reason to always take RAWs as you can always come back to them and make a better picture in years to come
