changing light on the pool Waxwings again
fantastic watching the antics of these birds coming to drink -- they are so fast spending only seconds at the pool before flying up again that composition is really luck; the adults seem to spend even less time down than the first-winters probably you don't survive to be an adult unless you learn strategies for evading Sparrowhawk attacks -- right at the end of the afternoon the sun broke through for about 10 minutes providing the best light -- I saw the same colour ringed bird twice; the BTO ring ends in 59 -- very quick response from Raymond Duncan at the Grampian ringing group this is apparently an Orkney ringed bird -- great stuff --
