with 400 Waxwings feeding at point blank range in a hedge near where you live you would think that any human being would appreciate this extraordinary event but the vast majority of today's British population are so far removed from nature that they would rather drive at 50mph and kill birds than stop to watch them and appreciate the natural world in which they reside -- there is really no hope for birds or other wildlife in the long term -- while watching these superb birds there was constant gun fire from all around such is the sporting entertainment of Saturdays in the countryside

We are a sad species, the scourge of the natural world. People's eyes are closed to the natural wonder around them.
