Tundra Beans and Pale-bellied Brent

the Pale-bellied Brent was at Barton last Sunday but has now joined up with Greylags and Canadas around Read's Island where the flock of 12 Tundra Beans was this afternoon -- my first record of the winter - the only time they were closer was when they flew past me and of course I couldn't get the 2x off the 500!

Iceland Gull still there

the 3cy Iceland Gull still on Grimsby Docks today in the sun - -takes on totally different tones and colours in different ligths

Bittern

feeding almost all day close to a hide but virtually impossible to see even when you knew where it was  until it walked into the open but by then the light was all wrong -- not really sure if it was stalking the snipe or if they were just a distraction

Barn Owls

some of my best Barn Owl images on Saturday evening just due to the light and some nice birds hunting relatively early in a good location -- last 3 images 7D2 with Canon 500 f4 and 1.4x all others 1DX with same lens and converter -- sort of pleased there is an obvious difference as you would expect
