it was late evening and only took the camera along out of habit really -- we had been struggling to find a close Savi's then this bird struck up and was visible in the half light singing from a post in the marsh -- the camera refused to focus, not really too surprising at 10,000 ISO with the 400 and 1.4x converter so hand holding at 1/15th second and manual focussing -- fortunately it was using the same song posts at 04:00 the following morning -- the first image was typical of early efforts -- it was so dark I couldn't actually see where the bird was through the viewfinder and ending up just aiming with the naked eye -- at 15/th sec its bill is still vibrating
