On a very, very dull morning yesterday the Brents were very co-operative so after taking the usual flight and flock shots with no impact decided to try some motion blur shots - 1/25th second was interesting and even 1/40th failed to keep up with flying birds or was it my tracking? herewith a batch of different images - seems to be a decent number of juveniles this winter-

a morning down the Ancholme Valley
The Goosanders produced too much contrast in the black water and you just cannot get low down to get a decent perspective - the Great White was quickly disturbed by the hordes of cyclists, joggers, walkers etc
The juvenile Whooper with the Mutes appeared a bit lop sided

record shots definition -
A seawatch yesterday and the predicted strong northerlies, how do they get is so wrong so often, produced very little but 8 Bonxies and a Great Northern Diver flying north with 120 Kittiwakes south and 4 Guillemots - only a few Common Scoter and no other sea ducks or skuas - this is the Great Northern a long way out and certainly qualifying for the record shot my a--- category

Curlew on mudflat
Walking on the Humber Bridge I noticed this lone Curlew feeding on the mudflats below: an interestingly different image
weather and sand bars
a somewhat stormy start to yesterday and then plenty of wind - decided to take a walk on the bridge to capture the sand bars at low tide for a change
