Red-rumped Swallow 3rd for Barton

just heading home for  a cuppa after a 5 miles hike round part of the pits this morning when a text from Andy informed me that Richard had found a Red-rumped Swallow at Target, my next destination after the cuppa!, after a bit of a scare when it drifted off south-east it then settled down and gave excellent views until dark in the increasingly windy and dull weather -- Bufflehead and Red-rumped Swallow in 2 days what will the easterly gales bring tomorrow?

really poor shots but both legs look naked and the bird is full winged and wary! still trying to work out sex and age?

in any non dedicated trip time is limited on any target species and when the weather is poor it makes it harder still to get something you like but I was pleased to see this image on the back of the camera due to the birds pose and attitude and that grey sky
