Black-browed Albatross re-visited

having seen how much better images were in sunlight I was hoping that Albert would reappear this week; yesterday morning noticed it was back but on the sea so set off after lunch with singular intention of staking out the best photo spot and ignoring distant views on the sea; the gamble paid off and I was in the right spot when it came in for an extended fly around before going back out on the sea; a second bite late evening and some very nice scope views made it a true bonus day particularly as the predicted cloud cover did not arrived until just before dark --

all photos are taken with the new Canon R6 and the Canon 400DO2 - I was amazed by how well the AF worked on finding and keeping the bird in focus even when it was small and head on and how it ignored passing Gannets, that were a major potential distraction and kept focus on the bird when against the cliff or over the staple arch gannetry

An overload of images but when will I ever see another one of these and from land as a bonus - for a big bird it is remarkably easy to loose it when it goes out over the water amongst the mass of other seabirds
