in the first photo the male is clearly agitated -- he flew into the reeds and made a higher pitched ping than usual for several minutes as the female called from the other side of the path -- suddenly a Sparrowhawk came out of the bushes 30m away, the cause of the agitation that they had seen but we had not -- some photographers only want images of birds fully in the open and in profile but these are reed dwellers and its nice to show them as such in my opinion
