like the proverbial busses years go by without one then they come in a rush -- Lound is only 45 miles from home, less than the Lincs coast, so after finishing an early morning survey a visit was in order; the day was hot and humid but often cloudy and there was a lot of heat haze; the bird is a superb individual though with sharply contrasting black median covers, broad pale edged greaters and the usual peachy rump and uppertail coverts plus of course that striking open wing and tail pattern; while I was there it caught at least 4 hornets and some other wasps as well as a long black beetle sp? and was certainly finding it easy feeding

another autumn another Steppe Grey Shrike

Hi Graham,
These two last posts are wonderful.. I've seen one grey shrike in Finland... They are gorgeous birds! Well done these two last posts are exquisite.
