with little prospect of finding anything rare I stuck to the local patch today; a juvenile Purple Sandpiper on Chowder was the first on the patch since 1998! after that 8 Whoopers flew south-east, a flock of 1000 Golden Plover failed to produce anything else but a single juv Curlew Sandpiper was with the Dunlin flock
