we had 5 nights at Jasper in the log cabins as Alpine Village, a really nice location and superb accommodation though not cheap well recommended; a quick walk along the adjacent Athabasca river late evening turned up Spotted Sandpiper, the usually elusive and high perching Swainson's Thrush in song and a nice Slate-coloured Junco -- http://www.alpinevillagejasper.com
