pipits not playing ball

the day looked sort of promising at 05:10 but the sunrise never developed, perhaps an omen for the rest of the day; my target was displaying Tree Pipits but they were just not doing a lot, little singing and even less by the way of song flights then the wind got up and the sun was hazy and so it fizzled out; the Chiffchaff was giving a rather odd call but it just seems to be a nominate Chiff
