this was a new sub-species for me---it was hunting dragonflies from a perch on poles by our B&B near Boundary Bay Delta--at one stage it left its perch to chase a juvenile Cooper's Hawk which nearly knocked me over in its escape; like so many of the raptors it was tame allowing me to stand rght underneath it on the pylon
