this was in fact a family holiday, hence the low number of bird images! so at times family members had to be pressed into action to gain the odd photo--seeing this family of Common Loons on Clearwater lake it had to be worth the $7 for the half hour boat hire even if we did not get close; as it happened the birds were so used to boats on the lake that they ended up larger than full frame; you need to click these and several other shots to see the full (sized down) images---
